Finals Week Treats

So since it is finals week and all I decided it's going to be okay to splurge on the treats this week! Besides that fact it's also really cold this week and all I want is soup! My sister and I have started our newest tradition for the Christmas season where we find a new treat (unhealthy, but still pretty healthy) to make and try together.

We found this drink on pinterest they called Grinch Floats. Which consisted of lime sherbert and sprite, so to make it a little more healthy we did fat free sherbert and diet sprite, not too bad either. We were REALLY excited to try them. We finished up the night by appropriately watching The Grinch That Stole Christmas.

After we started looking for some treats I decided to look for a soup we would have for dinner the next movie night and then for Friday (celebration of the end of finals) finish up with a yummy chocolate or hot cocoa treat.
This low- calorie lasagna soup caught my eye. It's creamy, cheesy, and goes great with the cold weather and also a slice of bread. That is my kind of soup! If your not into lasagna you could always try a tomato or everyone's old love the classic chicken noodle.

These cupcakes looked like a fun, yummy challenge to me. I use to love fruity pebbles cereal as a kid and these look amazing. You get normal cupcake batter (vanilla preferred) then stir in the fruity pebbles and enjoy. They look like they give a good crunch to the cupcakes, this will be one my sister and I will be trying over the break.

Family Christmas Parties

This weekend my family is having our "Pre-Christmas" party and I wanted to contribute a dish of my own. The only problem is I'm one of the only ones in my distant family who is trying to eat more healthy. So I thought it would be good to find a recipe that looked yummy, but was secretly healthy.

I decided to look at YouTube for a couple video tutorials of what I could make for the party. The top two that I thought looked the most enjoyable and "comfort" foods for the weather we may have this weekend. The first video is a healthy try at the classic funeral potatoes that my grandma always makes.

The second video I looked up was for healthy holiday ham. I thought it would go perfectly with the potatoes and my family would appreciate it. The video mentions that you can have veggies as well as cranberry or something sweet to the ham.

Now I know I said I was only bringing one dish, but all of this video looking up made me want to find a dessert that could go well with these two things. I wanted something Christmas related, but simple and small. These were really cute and healthy treats for sure minus the eyes ha-ha.
